 Diagnostic Services: Our first step for each new patient is to establish a baseline. We use digital x-rays and intra-oral cameras in each operatory to assist in both your diagnosis and treatment. Also on site, to assist in diagnosis and treatment, we have a Gendex CBCT (computed tomography) scanner which allows three-dimensional or volumetric x-rays. Digital x-rays and CBCT scans are cutting edge, however, they do not tell us everything we need to know. Our diagnostic services also include intraoral examinations, screenings for signs of oral cancer, thorough charting and periodontal examinations to evaluate gum disease. Of course, we offer consultative services and offer referrals to specialists when appropriate. CBCT scans are also helpful in orthodontic referrals.
Preventive Services: Beyond the diagnostic services routinely provided, preventive services include routine cleanings, fluoride treatments, and, when indicated, oral hygiene instruction and occlusal sealants . Generally we want to see our patients every six months for preventive care. Some patients with periodontal (gum) disease require more formal gum treatment and more intense maintenance in our STMP (soft tissue management program). The goal is to provide individualized treatment suited to the needs of patients.
