CAVITIES CONTROL
A variety of prescription  products are available  to help arrest  or reduce decay including Fluoride Gels for brush application or use with custom made delivery trays.  Also available are prescription fluoride toothpaste that offer elevated protection from cavities and  better reduction of plaque.

GUM DISEASE PREVENTION
Prescription toothpastes with heavy fluoride content are likewise available.  Also available are prescription mouthwashes  that  are highly effective and killing plaque over much longer periods of time than any over the counter product. Available are alcohol free fluoride based mouthwashes and mouthwashes based on Chlorhexidine Gluconate  for maximum plaque control.

SENSITIVITY CONTROL
While all the products mentioned  for cavities and gum disease prevention are also good  for relief of sensitivity, there are some exciting new materials available.  One is the Prospec MI Paste®. This product  offers available calcium and phosphate to tooth surfaces and tissue in the presence of salaiva.  This product should not be used at the same  brushing session as fluoride products.  Also it is not for patients who have milk protein allergies.  It is digestible by people with lactose intolerance.
